3 Ways To Expand Your Skills During Quarantine
These are strange times with most of us away from work on a self-imposed quarantine as we wait for COVID-19 to run it’s course. That said, this is a great time to expand our photography skills and grow our knowledge of business through continuing education because when the world recovers from COVID-19 we want to hit the ground running! Below are 3 ways you can expand your skills during quarantine.
Online classes. There’s many online classes taught by industry professionals on specific photo/video/business subjects. Some course I like are:
Creative Live - Flash Photography
Of course, The Hunting Photographer, which encompasses building your business, pitching clients, photo techniques, editing, social media management, business relationships and more!
Podcasts are also a great use of time and can yield a ton of useful information. To date, Zack and I have published 20 podcasts. You can listen to our podcast HERE. Another value-add podcast I learn a lot from is from FroKnowsPhoto HERE
Prism Photography. I get a lot of photo inspiration outside the hunting industry. Specifically, wedding photography has been a great source of inspiration for macros, unique lighting and effects. One specific effect I’ve been playing about with is prism photography. I purchased this triangular prism for $10 HERE and by simply holding it up close to my lens I’ve been able to get some wild refraction effects. It’s a good way to add creative flare to your images.
